Office Systems, Inc. of Watertown becomes Office Peeps, Inc.
Watertown…On November 19, Office Systems, Inc., the Watertown-based
office products company, becomes Office Peeps, Inc.
“Our business is strong, but we knew our image needed updating,” said Joel Vockrodt, President. “After studying the market, we decided to change our
name and logo, as well.”
“Office Peeps is a professional, upbeat, contemporary brand,” Vockrodt said.
“It emphasizes our people – our “peeps” – who are truly our core strength.”
The new logo art features an illustrated “character” with a red
bowtie and glasses. When
Vockrodt introduced the new logo to
associates at a special event, he passed out red bowties for staff to wear.
“Office Peeps carries over 50,000 products and offers interior design
services and office equipment sales and service,” Vockrodt said. “Our prices
are the same or lower than you’ll find at any mass merchandiser, because
we belong to purchasing cooperatives.”
“But it’s our knowledgeable, experienced people that make the difference,”
he said.
Office Peeps started as Cook’s Office Machines in 1959, selling and
servicing Olivetti calculators.
In 1981, a group of salespeople left Cook’s
to form
Office Systems, Inc (OSI).
The company grew quickly, becoming
a complete
office solutions provider.
In 2004, OSI owners purchased Cook’s, bringing the companies back
together and creating a reserve of knowledge, expertise and purchasing
power.
